How Our Vision, Mission & Values Shape Everything We Do

A behind-the-scenes look at how TravisMathew's Vision, Mission, and Values show up in daily work - not as words on a wall, but as tools that guide decisions and bring teams together.

A Vision, Mission & Values People Can Stand Behind

In 2022, we refreshed our Vision, Mission, and Values to put language to what drives us. We wanted something that’s true to our foundation, that also guides the future we’re building together.

We brought the entire organization into the process. We asked for input. We workshopped drafts. We debated language. All to land on a Vision, Mission, and Values we could all stand behind.

  • Our Vision: Inspiring customers and communities around the world to have fun, be confident, and embrace the moment.
  • Our Mission: We create elevated and aspirational product, branding, and experiences that inspire you to meet the moment with confidence, comfort, and ease.
  • Our Values: Adaptability, Collaboration, Curiosity, Empathy, Ownership

These aren't just statements. They give teams clarity, a shared language, and a way forward - a north star to guide our day-to-day work.

Putting Our Vision & Mission to Work

You can see the impact of the Vision and Mission in the way people work together - especially when the pace picks up or teams are navigating change.

The Vision and Mission help teams across the company align, even when departments move at different speeds or focus on different priorities. They create a shared language for how people talk about their work - and how that work connects to the bigger picture.

That sense of direction shows up on the retail floor, too. Steve M. shares how the Vision and Mission influence the way teams approach every guest - creating experiences that feel warm, relaxed, and fun.

At TravisMathew, it’s not just about selling a product. It’s about creating customer experiences that inspire confidence and help people embrace the moment.

For our corporate teams, the Vision and Mission outline a framework to make decisions and move work forward. Whether it's product, design, marketing, planning, or operations, people use them to stay aligned and understand how their work contributes to where the company is headed.

They don't slow the work down. They give it shape. They help people make decisions with purpose. And they help teams stay grounded even as new opportunities and challenges emerge.

Values That Show Up in Daily Work

The five values that came out of that work - Adaptability, Collaboration, Curiosity, Empathy, Ownership - aren't just ideas. They show up in how people work with each other every day.

Take recognition, for example.

Amanda R. helped redesign TravisMathew's recognition programs so every shout-out ties back to a value. When someone goes above and beyond, you don't just say "great job." You say which value they brought to life.

Did they show empathy when a teammate needed support?

Did they adapt when plans shifted?

Did they take ownership of a tough situation?

Over time, that repetition took hold.

Clarity in a Fast-Moving Company

Things at TravisMathew move quickly.

Plans shift, and priorities change. Some days, you map out your morning, and by 10 a.m., you're working on something completely different.

That pace isn't for everyone. But for people who thrive on variety and impact, it's energizing to work alongside people who share the same drive.

And this is where our Vision, Mission, and Values become even more important. When it feels like we’re moving a million miles a minute, they become the north star that keeps us focused.

They keep our teams aligned and give people confidence during change by offering a shared foundation. They allow us to see how our work fits into something bigger.

A Shared Purpose for the Road Ahead

And this is just the beginning. Our Vision, Mission, and Values aren't finished work. They're the starting point. They guide how decisions get made. They shape how leaders lead. And they help everyone see how their work contributes to the future of the brand.

For new hires, they offer clarity. For long-time employees, they show how the company is evolving. And for every team - from the retail floor to the design studio - they create a connection to the bigger picture.
